Safety & Protection for Donors
Product Liabity Issues
Every product received from a donor goes through a rigorous, “double check” evaluation process. Initially, donated products are evaluated for viability and usefulness, with compromised product being discarded. Afterwards, medical quality specialists review each item individually to check for any problems with expiration dates, sterility, FDA recalls, etc. Through this process, you can be assured that every product donated out to charities will be of the highest quality, thus avoiding the potential for product liability issues or bad press.
Product Diversion
When you donate supplies to charity, you intend those supplies to be in good hands to get to those who most need them. Unfortunately, in the developing world, if not monitored closely, products have the potential of being misappropriated or diverted for personal gain. Globus has developed a network of over 200 qualified charities working in over 100 countries throughout the world. Each of these charities meets a prescribed set of oerating and accountability standards that help assure proper use of product. Globus works regularly with these charity partners to follow up on the distribution of donated product.
Market Erosion
Your business has established valuable distribution channels and markets for its products. In order to preserve the profitability of these channels and markets, Globus believes you have the right to dictate where your donations can and can’t be used. Using our proprietary computer processing system, we attach geographic restrictions to each donated item. We adhere to these restrictions when preparing humanitarian shipments. For example, product restricted from domestic distribution will only be sent internationally.
Easy Donation Processing
Our logistics team provides one point of contact to facilitate quick and effective donations. We understand your distribution process places a premium on inventory turns and maximization of warehouse space. With one call, our logistics team will immediately arrange for pick-up, transport and documentation for all donations.
Reporting
Globus’ custom information systems allow us to record each item donated, the day it was received, the day it was evaluated for quality and the date and location of distribution. These reports can be sent on a regular basis, based on your preference. Also, donors are able to access real-time information on all donations via the Globus Relief website.
